COVID-19 Guidance

  • In alignment with the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department and public health entities throughout the country, UK Health Corps will no longer conduct contact tracing or notify people of potential exposures to COVID. Doing so, as with all other illness, will be at the discretion of the involved parties and their primary care providers.

  • The self-report tool is still operational for COVID tests, COVID vaccines, flu shots and meningitis shots.

  • If someone tests positive for COVID, they should contact their primary care physician as they would for any other health matter. They are welcome to call 859-218-YouK (9685) if they have non-medical questions.

  • Instructors and supervisors should manage COVID-related absences as they would any other illness. Students and employees should be expected to present documentation from a primary care provider if necessary.

  • People who need assistance unrelated to physical health matters should contact TRACS (students), Human Resources (employees) or the Center for Support and Intervention (students and employees).

  • New hires at the university, except for those included in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mandate, will no longer be required as of Feb. 1 to disclose proof of vaccination or request an exemption in the preemployment screening process.

  • Vaccine incentive programs for the fall semester will be terminated effective immediately.

  • Wastewater testing will end in January.
