About the Booster

Vaccines remain our best defense against COVID-19. Any fully vaccinated adult living or working in Kentucky is now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine booster, Gov. Andy Beshear announced Nov. 17.

The CDC CDC has updated its recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines with a preference for people to receive an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna).

In the coming days, we will announce details of a booster shot incentive campaign, like what we have conducted previously. We need to push just as hard for booster shots for everyone on our campus as we did for initial vaccinations last year. Stay tuned for more details about this effort.

Request your first, second or third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. 

Eiligible individuals should...

  • Go to to sign up for an appointment if they are eligible. This sign-up process is the same one we used last academic year for our vaccine clinics.

  • Bring their CDC vaccination card or proof of vaccination to the appointment. Replacement cards cannot be issued at the booster appointment. Walk-up appointments will not be accepted.

Individuals also may schedule an appointment, if space and appointments are available, at the UK HealthCare vaccination sites (hours vary)
